LOST Season 6 Premiere "LA X" Discussion
The Final Season is Here
Fantastic premiere to what is sure to be another fantastic season.

It looks like Faraday was right...and wrong. This season seems to be following two realities, one where Jughead detonated, and one where it did not.

First, let's point out the differences on this Oceanic Flight 815.
1. Jack has longer hair
2. Cindy hands Jack one bottle, not two.
3. The dialogue between Jack & Rose is altered slightly.
4. Desmond is now a passenger on the plane.
5. Charlie's hair is shorter, he does not run past Jack.
6. Shannon did not get on the plane.
7. Locke went on his walkabout and was not denied.
8. Hurley is a man of good luck, not bad.
9. Bernard comes back from the fucking bathroom.
10. The Island is underwater, as if the plane is in no danger at all of crashing.
11. Christian's coffin is lost (pun intended). Does this relate to the coffin being on the Island? Is Christian alive on the Island, or is it Smokey?
12. Jack is now the man of faith, and Locke is the pessimist.

Now it'll be interesting to see where this "What if?" scenario leads us.

Notice that the discussion between Jack and Locke mirrors the one they had in "White Rabbit" in Season One when Jack talks about his father's 'ghost'.

Whew! Now for the reality we're a bit more familiar with!
The survivors have now been transported to 2007, present day. Juliet tells Miles that "it worked". Is she able to know of the alternate reality now? Is this how dead people speak to Hurley? They're not dead, they're just from another timeline? We shall see.

Smokey tells Ben that he wants to go home. In Season Five, the Temple is assumed to be his home. When did he lose control of it to the Others? What will he do with Richard?

The Others say that the water in the Temple isn't clear. Was it clear when Jacob was still alive? If it is tainted somehow, why does it still heal Sayid?

It is clear now that the ash keeps Smokey away. When Hurley stumbled through it in Season Four at Jacob's cabin, he probably allowed Smokey to infiltrate the Cabin and force Jacob to go to the Statue. Illana said that the Cabin was being used by someone else for a long time = Smokey.

Is this upcoming battle between the Others and Smokey the War that Widmore kept referring to? Does Jacob need Sayid alive so he can help fight? Are the 815 survivors Jacob's soldiers for the War?

HIGHLIGHTS OF THE EPISODE:
1. The introduction to the alternate reality.
2. Smokey killing Jacob's soldiers, confirming that it is the Man in Black.
3. Sawyer kicking Jack into the Swan's crater. That's gotta hurt.
4. It looks like the Others are preparing to defend the Temple from Smokey. Hell yes!

Boom. L O S T.

ALSO: 1. Sun doesn't speak English
2. Michael and Walt and several other passengers aren't seen at all...could mean something, could just be the actors weren't available
3. Where did Desmond go?
4. Boone says he'd stick w/ Locke, just like he did on the Island.
5. Jack performing CPR on Sayid and Kate asking him to stop mirrored the scene when Jack performed CPR on Charlie and Kate asked him to stop in Season 1.
6. Is Jacob in Sayid? Is the real Locke in Sayid? Did young Ben go through the same process?

Some things seem destined to happen even in a different reality:
1. Jack fixes things but is hated for it = saving Charlie in the plane
2. Boon will be Locke's disciple
3. Locke will always be misunderstood.
4. Edward Mars (the marshall) receives an injury to his head in the same spot where a briefcase hit him on the original flight.
5. Kate is attracted to Jack. Sawyer is attracted to Kate.

ALSO: Smokey's description of Locke's life and death was so sad. Locke is a fantastic tragic character.
