Topping today's news stories is an explosion at an American Acryl plant in Seabrook, Texas. Blasting across newswires and search trends with the same ferocity as it hurled a huge plume of black smoke into the air, this non-fatal event has even sent such notable frontliners as the Copehhagen Conference on Climate Change to the bottom of the page.
In the early morning of December 9th, and despite increasing plans for a more environmentally friendly business strategy, the non-lethal explosion eliminated any hopes this quiet Texas community may have had of being nominated the most-environmentally friendly town in the Lone Star state.
Residents of the town reported houses shaking, and one citizen has overheard remarking, "That's going to leave a mark." Many locals even delayed their morning grits and eggs to watch the town fire department use equipment much of the town has never seen in use before.
A quiet community best known for it's city trails, Seabrook is nestled in Galveston Bay, in the Gulf of Mexico. Not really known for anything of importance, the town was one of many severely battered by Hurricane Ike, and was once explored by famous Spanish explorers in search of a fabled city of gold.
